PEER LEARNING

Peer Learning can significantly enhance a student’s understanding of content by promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing. In the context of “Life On the Edge” (LOTE), players encounter challenging waves of enemies and struggle with complex learning concepts within the game itself. To support and encourage peer interaction, we have included an “Ask Community” feature within the game. This feature connects players directly to the STEAM community, an online discussion and forum based platform where STEAM users communicate with each other. Through this platform, players can post questions or comments about the game, seek advice, and share strategies. Additionally, the STEAM community allows players to rate the game, providing valuable feedback to both developers and fellow players.

Life on the Edge incorporates a feature designed to foster a competitive yet collaborative spirit among players: the Leaderboards. This feature displays daily updated scores of various STEAM members who are playing the game, showcasing their achievements in different game statistics. Players can compete to achieve the top score, motivating them to improve their skills and learn from strategies of others. The Leaderboards not only add an element of excitement and competition but also serve as a platform for players to connect, compare performances, and celebrate each other’s successes.
